ASSESSMENT IN A CONSTRUCTIVIST, TECHNOLOGY- SUPPORTED LEARNING
WHAT IS ASSESSMENT?
It is the process of making some evaluation; the act of assessing.
WHAT IS CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY?
Constructivist theory is a theory to explain on how knowledge is constructed in the human being when information comes into contact with existing knowledge that has been developed by experiences. Constructivism as a theory of learning has existed for over one hundred years but has no been widely accepted or applied in public schools.this theory is just a posed of behavioral theory.
WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY-SUPPORTED LEARNING?
It is used to encourage students especially in facilitating student centered learning activities. It is more than technology enhance instruction. It recognizes that learning is supported in many different ways, even if there is no formal teaching involve.
Students study and learn based on the way they are tested. The type of assessment anticipated appears to influence how and what they learn. therefore, the quickest way to change the way students learn is to change the way learning is assessed.
In a technology-supported classroom, the student learns from and with the technology. Technology is seen as a source of information that the students learn from in the same way that the teacher are the source of information.. the students master facts from the concepts from technology and with the aid of technology.
The main characteristics of meaningful learning are that it is active, constructive, intentional, authentic, and cooperative.
According to Jonassen, et al. (1999), meaningful learning is:
Reflection:
It is said that traditional-paper-and pencil are not adequate to assess learning in a constructivist technology supported learning. In assessing student learning we only not depend on the skills they have(process-oriented performance based) but also for the output which is the (product-oriented performance based) assessment. With the help of the scoring rubrics which contain the criteria and the levels of performance we can smoothly assess their performance.

The main characteristics of meaningful learning are that it is active, constructive, intentional, authentic, and cooperative.
According to Jonassen, et al. (1999), meaningful learning is:
- Active (manipulative): We interact with the environment manipulate the objects within it and observe the effects of our manipulations.
- Constructive and reflective: Activity is essential but insufficient for meaningful learning. We must reflect on the activity and our observations, and interpret them in order to have a meaningful learning experience.
- Intentional: Human behaviour is naturally goal-directed. When students actively try to achieve a learning goal that they have articulated, they think and learn more. For students to experience meaningful learning, they must be able to articulate their own learning goals and monitor their own progress.
- Authentic (complex and contextual): Thoughts and ideas rely on the contexts in which they occur in order to have meaning. Presenting facts that are stripped from their contextual clues divorces knowledge from reality. Learning is meaningful, better understood and more likely to transfer to new situations when it occurs by engaging with real-life, complex problems.
- Cooperative (collaborative and conversational): We live, work and learn in communities, naturally seeking ideas and assistance from each other, and negotiating about problems and how to solve them. It is in this context that we learn there are numerous ways to view the world and a variety of solutions to most problems. Meaningful learning, therefore, requires conversations and group experiences.

LESSON 2
TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE
Technology can be boon or bane. It has advantage and disadvantage. So, if technology will be use in a good way, we can say that it is a blessing for us but, if we misuse it, it becomes a bane.
LESSON 6
USING AND EVALUATING INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
In using and evaluating instructional materials, you need to select first the materials that you are going to use. After selecting the material, you must ensure the effective use of it. So, as a teacher, you must prepare yourself for that activity and you should know your objective. You should prepare your students like you will give them some guide questions as what they learn in activity. After presenting materials, you need to follow up if the objective was attained or not.
LESSON 7
DIRECT PURPOSEFUL EXPERIENCES AND BEYOND
These experiences are concrete and first-hand experiences. It is concrete because it makes us use of real things, and purposeful because you had a purpose in doing that activity. So, direct purposeful experience gives us an opportunity to learn by what we are doing.
LESSON 8
TEACHING WITH CONTRIVED EXPERIENCES
The contrived experiences are used for substituting the real things if we cannot bring the real things into the class. They are by the use of models, mock-ups, specimen, objects, simulations and games. Through those things, we can be close to the real things or in real life situations.
LESSON 10
DEMONSTRATION IN TEACHING
Demonstration is a visualized explanation. It is not that the teacher talks, but it also shows how things are done. Demonstration is a part of communication, so if you are good in demonstration, you are also good in communication.
